Rain, rain go away...don't come back another day

SPECIAL KAMPFIRE DISCOUNT: Tickets $15 use code: Kamp15

This weekend, for five performances only, see the play, Reed in the Wind, an extraordinary story about the intricacies of life in Ireland during the early twentieth century. During this time, Ireland was a country beset with turmoil--fighting for independence from the oppressive British government, torn by civil war, rising tensions between the Irish Catholic and Protestant divisions, and a transformation in popular culture as laws on alcohol consumption were tightened and leisure time became a more confined and disciplined affair.

The relevant necessity of Reed in the Wind as playwright, Joe McDonald, explains is a story about "the survival of characters seeking the truth of their lives only to find that in truth lies tragedy."

Reed in the Wind takes on the issues of this period in Irish history, as the play follows the story of Michael and Kate Nolan whose lives are forever changed when their parents perish in a fiery death. Ostracized by their community, the siblings' unique relationship is challenged by the web of religious, social, and economic morass of the time. As the Nolan family disintegrates, the characters struggle to survive while seeking the truth - an adventure of the human kind.

UWS in the 70s, Farcical views, Bullies allowed

Working in a Real Estate office during a recession is not easy, just ask playwright, Richard Hymes-Esposito, who based his new play, This Isn't Paradise, on his experiences at a Manhattan Real Estate office. This ensemble comedy is a "farce about bullying in the workplace. At a time of economic recession, these facets of human behavior become more and more prevalent and less sugar coated," commented Hymes-Esposito.

In This Isn't Paradise, Robert Adkins thinks he's the next Donald Trump, as he is the leading moneymaker in a small Manhattan Real Estate Agency; until the perfect storm of a serious economic recession and a new hire, threaten his "world". This Isn't Paradise comically explores the sociopathic, money hungry, sexist, unstable..."tendencies", a man can posses during hard times.

THIS ISN'T PARADISE performance schedule:
Thursday, June 18th at 8 PM; Friday, June 19th at 8 PM; Saturday, June 20th at 3 PM & 8 PM
